When Maddie is forced to seek the help of her long-estranged mother, she finds herself unable to shield her daughter Caroline from the inescapable circumstances that fractured their family. A world premiere play by PRESTON MAX ALLEN (WE ARE THE TIGERS), directed by Tony Award Winner DAVID CROMER (DEAD OUTLAW, GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK), CAROLINE is a luminous and intimate story about the possibility of redemption and the complex relationships between generations of mothers and daughters.

RIVER LIPE-SMITH
CAROLINE
RIVER LIPE-SMITH (they/them) is thrilled to make their Off-Broadway debut in CAROLINE! A performer since the age of three (with early acclaim from their parents, dogs, and any neighbor within earshot), River brings boundless heart to every role. Favorite credits include Tiny Tim in A CHRISTMAS CAROL, Young Charlie in KINKY BOOTS, and the ever-dramatic “narrator of chores” in countless living room productions and local theaters in Rochester, NY.
When not acting, River lives somewhere between Middle-Earth and a melody—singing, playing piano, oboe, and trombone, flipping through gymnastics routines, or dreaming up the next big adventure.
