Ticketing & Rush Policies


In our efforts to create as safe an environment as possible, we are requiring that everyone who visits and works in the Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space be fully vaccinated and masked.

Audience members will need to provide proof of full vaccination along with a government issued photo ID with matching name at the point of building entry on performance date.

Fully vaccinated, per the CDC, means having had your second shot or single shot (based on vaccination type) of an FDA or WHO authorized COVID-19 vaccine two weeks (14 days) before your performance date. Proof of vaccination can be shown with one of the following:

  • Your vaccination card
  • Photo of your vaccination card
  • Or via an official governmental mobile app or website; NYS residents or those who received a vaccination in NYS may present proof of vaccination via the Excelsior Pass app. For more information about the Excelsior Pass please visit

Masks covering nose and mouth must be worn at all times inside the building. Bandanas, gaiters, or masks with vents or valves are not approved masks. If you do not have an approved mask, MCC Theater will provide one for you.

Children under the age of 12 will be able to attend performances once they are fully vaccinated.

As MCC seeks to make our theater more accessible to all, setting an appropriate and effective health and safety plan has been challenging. MCC will follow New York City guidelines and will currently not make exceptions for in-person attendees who are not vaccinated, regardless of the reason. We understand if you are unable to receive the vaccine, and we regret that we are not able to welcome you to a performance at this time. If necessary, we are happy to refund the price of your ticket.

As the situation with COVID-19 evolves, our protocols may change. We will continue to rely on guidance from the CDC and WHO, as well as local guidelines and restrictions. Policy changes will be updated on MCC’s website and all communication channels and ticket holders will be directly notified.

To utilize our PAST DATE ticketing policy, bring your unused and unscanned ticket to the box office on the day of the performance you wish to attend – no earlier than 2 hours prior to curtain. If you have misplaced or did not pick up your ticket(s) from your original performance, you will need to provide the name on your original reservation. If accommodations can be made for that day’s performance, our box office attendant will get you sat closer to curtain in the available seat(s).


It may be necessary to attempt our PAST DATE ticket policy on more than one occasion as this accommodation is based solely on ticket availability and at the discretion of the box office.



$34 RUSH Tickets (inclusive of all fees) are available two hours prior to each curtain, subject to availability. Limit 2 per person.


$25 RUSH Tickets are available two hours prior to each curtain, subject to availability. Limit 1 per ID. Students must present their school ID card at the MCC Theater box office to purchase tickets for that evening’s performance.

We are proud to take part in Playwrights Welcome, which offers available tickets to professional playwrights on the day of a performance, free of charge. To receive a ticket through Playwrights Welcome at our theater:
  • Writers must present their Dramatists Guild Membership Card when requesting a ticket – no exceptions.
  • Must show up no later than 15 minutes before curtain.
  • Must be aware that they may be given a partial view seat.

Playwrights Welcome is a new program developed for Dramatists Guild of America Members by Samuel French along with Dramatists Play Service, Dramatic Publishing, Music Theatre International, Playscripts and Rodgers and Hammerstein. The goal is simple: to provide free access to theatre for playwrights, composers and lyricists. We are invested in the success and artistic health of our industry’s writers, and by extension the vibrancy of the American theatre. We’re also aware that attending theatre is an integral part to how writers learn their craft and grow as artists.
