ARTISTIC & EDUCATION INTERNSHIP
This intern will work closely with the Artistic and Education Departments, providing producing and administrative support for all Artistic Development programming. It is an opportunity to learn about how a non-profit theater both produces and develops new work and offers strong artistic support to young artists. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.

 

AUDIENCE SERVICES
Audience Services interns will work closely with the Audience Services staff in supporting ticketing and front of house management for all of the MCC productions. Interns will assist in research to help MCC further their accessibility offerings, learn the ins and outs of front of house management, third-party ticketing management, inventory support, comp reconciliation, and post-performance reports. The intern will have the opportunity to attend internal meetings with the Director of Audience Services, accessibility trainings and learn our ticketing system, Spektrix. Attention to detail and being a self-starter is crucial to this position.

 

DEVELOPMENT 
Development interns work closely with the Individual Giving and Special Events staff on a variety of projects that support MCC Theater’s fundraising efforts. Interns will assist with: research, database management and correspondence; planning and executing donor cultivation and funding events; tasks and planning associated with Opening Nights and maintenance of organizational systems. Prospective Development Interns are asked to submit a writing sample with their application, (i.e.: mock grant proposal, an essay, etc.).

 

EDUCATION & PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT
Education & Public Engagement interns assist the Director of Public Engagement & Education and Manager of Education Programs with the MCC Theater Youth Company and various Public Engagement programming. Interns will assist with: after school programs as a teaching assistant, assistant producing our culminating Youth Company productions, launching new community engagement initiatives and various administrative tasks. Experience working with teenagers, in arts education or community development is a plus. Please note: Education internships operate in tandem with the school year calendar. Interns are only brought on in the fall and are asked to stay on through the spring, to provide consistency for our students.

 

GENERAL MANAGEMENT
The General Management Intern works closely with the General Management Department to help facilitate special projects and research, organizing general management files, assist in company management, correspondence in and out of the office, and general office management.  Candidates must have strong Excel skills and an affinity for learning ticketing and financial software.  Responsibilities will vary depending on where we are in our season and each individual’s professional goals.

 

MARKETING 
The Marketing Intern assists the Marketing Department in various office duties such as managing audience communications and mailings, conducting research, facilitating audience surveys, maintaining department archives and databases, planning and implementing viral and grassroots marketing efforts. Excel and Social Media experience a must. Photoshop/ WordPress experience is a plus. Prospective Marketing Interns interested in design are asked to submit a design sample of something they have worked on, if available.

 

OPERATIONS 
The Operations Intern will work closely with the Facilities and Operations Manager and will support a wide range of projects.  This will provide interested candidates with the hands-on technical experience of how a theater company handles daily operations in a brand-new, three-story theater space.  Responsibilities will include assistance with space planning, daily tasks, invoices, research, and scheduling. Strong time management, communication skills, adaptability and an interest in operations management are a must.
