The FreshPlay Festival is back in person at MCC! Join us for readings of new plays by our Youth Company Playwriting Lab.
The FreshPlay Festival merges the voices and creativity of Youth Company members with the experience of professionals, creating provocative, innovative, and fresh theater. This year, the FreshPlay Festival will focus on the workshop process with five original plays written by Playwriting Lab writers. These young scribes will work with a roster of professional directors and actors, including alumni from the Youth Company.
ABOUT the YOUTH COMPANY
The MCC Theater Youth Company is a free, after-school program for New York City high school students interested in developing their acting and dramatic writing skills. Within a creative, challenging, and supportive environment, teenagers from five boroughs participate in weekly workshops (Labs) led by professional theater artists.
