AN UPDATE ON MISCAST20- THE VIRTUAL EVENT

We have made the decision to postpone this year’s virtual Miscast gala, scheduled to air on June 20th.

All of the great artists and collaborators who are a part of this event will be with us when we stream Miscast at a later date. However, now is a time for us to reflect, evaluate, and actively participate in this moment in our nation’s history. At MCC we need to sit with one another and take meaningful steps to support racial equality as an organization and reaching outward. It is important for us—for the sake of the artists, students, audiences, and staff that make MCC what it is—to take a pause.

We believe in our mission and we believe in the joy that Miscast has brought to so many throughout the years. There will be more information to come when we announce a new date.

We hope you’ll be there with us.

MISCAST20 IS GOING VIRTUAL!

For the first time ever, we’re taking the experience of Miscast online. Every year MCC’s Miscast gala gets New York talking. For the 20th Miscast we’re inviting the world, as we take it all online. Expect big stars, big performances and big surprises, as Broadway’s hottest performers sing songs from roles in which they wouldn’t traditionally be cast.

MCC will donate 10 percent of the money raised during the Miscast20 broadcast to The Mental Health Coalition (MHC)-a new initiative announced on May 15, founded by social activist and fashion designer Kenneth Cole. The remaining proceeds provide vital support to MCC Theater, and their mission to develop and produce exciting work Off-Broadway, as well as its Youth Company and partnerships with New York City public high schools, and MCC’s literary development work with emerging playwrights.
