MCC Theater seeks Box Office Assistant(s).
MCC Theater is the award-winning off-Broadway company that has recently produced School Girls; or The African Mean Girls Play, The Legend of Georgia McBride, Hand to God, Punk Rock, among many others over its 30+ years. MCC Theater recently opened and began producing in The Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space on 52nd Street in January of 2019, featuring two state-of-the-art theaters, The Newman Mills Theater (245 seats) and The Susan & Ronald Frankel Theater (100+ seats, flexible configuration). MCC has an annual operating budget of $7-8million, with more than 40% of its annual income coming from single ticket and subscription sales, and welcomes an annual audience of 75,000 through a mixture of performance and public engagement programs.
This audience services team member will report directly to the Director of Audience Services while working very closely with the Ticketing Manager and play a vital role at managing relationships with MCC audiences, including Subscribers and Single Ticket Buyers.
The ideal candidates will have prior box office experience. Experience and familiarity with Spektrix preferred.
Must be able to work a minimum of 5 shifts a week while in production. There are 20 shifts per week to be shared amongst 4 Box Office Assistants.
The position will communicate directly with colleagues in other departments including Company Management, General Management, Marketing, Development and Production Teams.
- Provide exceptional service to MCC audiences including ticket exchanges, benefit delivery, and information on productions throughout our season via phone, e-mail, and in person at the Box Office window.
- Assist in processing ticket and membership orders.
- Work closely with the Ticketing Manager to process, prepare and print tickets for pre-show box office pick up for performances and special events.
- Prepare post-show box office reports.
Start date: October 1, 2019
Monday – Sunday while in production:
Monday: 11:30AM – 2:30PM and 2:30PM – 6PM
Tuesday & Thursday: 11:30AM – 4:00PM and 4:00PM – 8:00PM
Wednesday, Friday, Saturday: 11:30AM – 4:00PM and 4:00PM – 8:30PM
Sunday: 11:30AM – 3:30PM
(Full day shifts are an option)
Monday – Friday while not in production:
3 hour blocks: 11:30AM – 2:30PM and 2:30PM – 6:00PM
